Support SB 1478!
CA Senate Bill 1478 provides for a detailed urban water management plan. This law would include a requirement that the state achieve a 20% reduction in urban per capita water use by December 31, 2020. A ten percent reduction in water use would from baseline would be required for commercial users for irrigation purposes. Acequia strongly supports this bill and looks forward to reducing use in California.

Georgia Passes Water Conservation Bill
On June 1, 2010, SB 370, the Georgia Water Stewardship Act, was signed into law. This law is major step forward for the state of Georgia, protecting its agricultural interests while promoting water conservation. Effective immediately, the most visible change to homeowners is a permanent watering restriction during the heat of the day (10 am to 4 pm).
